Carmel Valley was built mostly from the 1990s onward, so its homes come with different hardware than the rest of the city: multipoint locking patio doors, builder-grade handlesets that wear out around the ten-year mark, gated HOA communities with their own rules, and a lot of interest in smart locks that work with the rest of the house.
